The purpose of Brushy Creek ATA as part of ATA International has remained the same: to provide students with the highest quality martial arts curriculum available in a fun and positive learning environment that people of all ages can enjoy.
Class choices designed for a wide spectrum of students, skills and schedule.
Tigers
This class is for the really little ones! Our tigers learn the basics of taekwondo, like beginner hand moves, kicks, stances, and a few weapons skills. We also work on developing their motor skills and their balance.
White, Orange, Yellow
In this beginner level class, the students learn basics like kicks, stances, hand moves, and beginner weapons skills. Because these kids are a little older, unlike the Tigers class we delve a little bit more into technique, memorization, and power.
Camo – Red
This is an intermediate level class. In addition to what they learned in the beginner class, they will learn more advanced techniques like jump and spin kicks, elbows, and board breaks with hand moves. At this level they are also expected to memorize more material and they start to learn how to take charge of their own training.
Leadership
This class is for students who wish to learn teaching skills and perform demonstrations for the other students. They will learn more advanced techniques in this class and unique weapons skills. Those who have demonstrated an exceptional attitude in their regular classes may join Leadership.
Black Belts
This is an advanced class. Starting at the rank of Recommended Black Belt, these students are expected to have a grasp on their own training. They will learn Black Belt-only techniques and weapons, and choose their own testing schedule. As the name of the 1st Degree Black Belt form Shim Jun says, this is a new beginning. Many feel as though training truly begins at black belt, as this is when students feel that they truly find creativity and connection within the material.
Adult Class
These classes are for all-ranks. High school students and adults are welcome in this class. Compared to beginner and even intermediate classes, these classes focus more on deeper understanding of techniques and as older students they have the freedom to direct their own practice if they so choose.
Saturday Class
This class is for all ranks and all ages. Students who miss classes during the week may attend this class as a make-up.
